Joe Gibbs : DJ Album Collections 1977-1980

Joe Gibbs was a Jamaican record producer and engineer who was active in the music industry during the 1970s and 1980s. He was known for his work in the reggae genre, producing hits for various artists such as Dennis Brown, Culture, and The Mighty Diamonds. Gibbs was also the owner of the record label Joe Gibbs Record Globe, which released many popular reggae albums and singles. He played a significant role in shaping the sound of reggae music during that era.

Disc 1 of the collection includes two classic 1977 albums from two influential figures in the reggae genre. One of them is Wade Brammer, also known as Trinity, who is famous for his widely loved track "Three Piece Suit," which inspired Althea & Donna's chart-topping hit "Uptown Top Ranking" in the UK. The other artist featured is Michael Williams, known as Prince Far I, who gained international recognition with his highly popular 1976 hit "Heavy Manners."

On disc 2 you get two more albums from 1980. One of them showcases the immense talent of Ranking Joe (Jackson), who was a prominent figure in Jamaican music during the late 1970s and early 1980s, releasing a series of major hits. The other album features the talented Prince Mohammed, also known as George Nooks, who achieved significant success as a vocalist under his real name. Record label, Doctor Bird keep coming up quality material from the golden age of reggae and got this they must be thoroughly commended.
